"A Place of Our Making" exhibition and film screening now on!

What happens when east Londoners, UCL researchers, and artists come together to explore how we could live easier, happier lives?

From our changing neighbourhoods to navigating healthcare; accessible spaces, to how we say hello; five partnerships formed through the UCL East Trellis programme have brought together academics, artists and east London residents to explore how collaborative thinking could improve lives.

A Place of Our Making: A multisensory exhibition about east London shares the findings of these innovative collaborations with a series of unexpected exhibits. You are invited to smell a Beigel brick, meet a 7ft puppet, and join the conversation.

UCL PEARL is proud to be a part of this exhibition through its collaboration on one of the commissioned artworks Acceptance of Difference (Here?) So come along to UCL East Marshgate in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford and see how PEARL was used to simulate ideas of a more neurodivergent environment.

We are also having a special Film Screening and Q&A this Sunday 23 March 4-6pm where you can hear from PEARL, the artists and community members about their collaborative approach to centring neurodivergent-friendly design. So come along and turn the built environment on its head by diagnosing the space around you! Book your free tickets here.

A Place of Our Making is free to all and open daily 14 March – 13 April 2025, 10am – 6pm.

This exhibition is part of Trellis 5 supported by Foundation for Future London’s Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City, and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Impact Acceleration Account funding.
